About Tumo

Located in a sprawling park in Yerevan, Armenia, the Tumanyan Park Center for Creative Technologies is a resource for teenagers and preteens interested in activities at the intersection of technology and art. It’s a new kind of learning environment in the form of a giant studio. You can think of it as a cross between an internet café and a vocational center.

The goal of the center is to offer thousands of kids per year a unique learning experience. For most of them, that will mean getting intensive exposure to new ways of working, new tools. For others, it will plant the seeds of a career in a competitive field. We’re focusing on areas that are attractive to kids and that also have career potential: digital media, game development, computer animation, web development.

The center, scheduled to open in the fall of 2008, will expose kids to resources in new media and technologies and motivate them to learn, to want to create new possibilities for themselves. We believe that it will expand their horizons and help them gain a positive outlook on life.
